Round 21 - Belmont Villa Reserves vs Joondalup Untd

Sep
23

Congratulations to Joondalup Utd for a very good season and a good win today.

Credit to my boys today for never giving up and for continuous effort in the face of a heavy defeat.

I am very proud of the way the guys have gone about their football this year and today was no different. For 90 minutes we gave everything we had and we never gave up.

Round 20 - International Calcio vs Belmont Villa Firsts

Sep
16

International Calcio has bridged the gap on North Perth after a crushing win over Belmont Villa.

The visitors were in control of the match and Belmont showed little signs of putting up any fight as the visitors pushed goal after goal passed the home side.

The loss sees Belmont Villa stay in tenth place on the ladder, but the gap behind South Perth in ninth is now five points.

Things do not look like getting any easier for Belmont either, with the final two matches being played against Southern Spirit and Joondalup United.

Round 20 - International Calcio vs Belmont Villa Reserves

Great game by the lads yesterday. They showed great endeavour, great perseverance and great attitude.

With the appearance of some new faces over the last couple of weeks from the 5th division has come the appearance of some of the old faces that were maybe starting to slack off a little at training. I am happy to say that the guys that have stepped up have performed admirabley and if they are prepared to keep training I am prepared to stick by them and keep them in the team. That should say enough about their performances.

Round 19 - Belmont Villa First vs B.B United

The tone was set for this game before it even started.

I got a phone call while driving down to the Reserve game asking if the First team could grab Paul because Brad had had three phone calls/ messages from people not being able to turn up due to work.

Round 19 - Belmont Villa Reserves vs BB United

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.

I hope you are all in better condition than I am at the moment. Feeling a little sore and sorry for myself.

I will start by saying that once again I was proud of the ressies for giving me everything they had. Nobody gives up and they continue to try and play football from the start to the finish.

I think the boys can think themselves a little hard done by today. To go in 1-0 down at half time from a penalty for handball that on other days might not have been given is harsh.

Round 18 - Belmont Villa Firsts vs Hamersley Rovers

Sep
02

Hamersley has handed Belmont Villa a thrashing away from home on Sunday afternoon.

It was all one-way traffic as Hamersley dominated from start to finish.

Belmont scored a goal through Pat Barry, but it did little to stop the onslaught from Hamersley.

Once Belmont Villa were a couple of goals down, the body language changed and even some radical movements where defenders were thrown forward could not bring Belmont back into the game.

Belmont face BB United next week, and continue their tough run home, while Hamersley face North Perth United at home.

Round 18 - Belmont Villa Reserves Vs Hammersley Rovers

Looks like things are back on form for us this weekend.

I am sent a message at 3:45 yesterday (Saturday) that one of the lads wont be able to play today due to the passing of his fiance's grandad. Deepest sxypathies to the family from me and on behalf of the boys.

Also found out this morning that the gout that has been keeping my normal keeper off his feet and me in goal is still persisting even after a good week.

What a perfect day for football and the biggest game of the year. Win and we almost seal membership to the Premier league in 2013 lose and it’s going to be tough battle for the rest of the year to avoid relegation.

Round 17 - South Perth Vs Belmont Villa Reserves

Got to the ground today with a list of 13 players.

Nearly started the game with ten. I had been given specific orders that I wasn't aloowed to play this week because I had to help the Firsts. Thanksfully a couple of the Irish boys got there early and I used one of them for  ahalf. Thanks Darrell it was a great help.

Just on a side note. Who in their right mind does a 12kmrun on a Sunday morning before football? He got there anyway.

Round 16 - Belmont Villa Firsts vs Whitfords

Aug

I rocked up about 1.30 to catch the second half of the ressies to find out that we MAY have 11 for the firsts. After a good performance last week, we were hoping to start this game in a similar vein to how we finished last week. Our formation of 6 players on the wing and two midfield players created a bit of concern with the players so the backline decided to go man on man which would free Kev up in the defensive midfield role. It worked reasonably well in the first 5-10 minutes with a pretty even game and we were looking creative.
