The reserves have been threatening to win each game this season and they broke through with style on Sunday, Finally managing to convert a small lead into a big one. After a competitive first half they came out confident and strong and applied sustained pressure all over the ground which created many opportunities which they nailed. A hat trick to Macca put it beyond doubt, and the boys pressed hard right to the end. Final score 6 - 1 and could easilly have been more!
First Team continues to struggle to deal with injuries and player turnover. All over the ground we are competitive individually but cohesive team play eludes us for most of the time. Its very difficult when you consistently turn the ball over after two or three possessions and it comes back at you faster than the midfield can get back. Once again the wide midfielders in particular are getting caught out of their defensive positions. On the plus side the team shows a fighting spirit right to the whistle which is humbling. Even though two of Morley's goals owed a lot to good fortune the final score of 7 - 2 was not unfair. Its also useful to note that last season Morley were division 4.
