Round 6 - Belmont Villa Div 5 vs Bayswater FC

Reserves match not attended by writer but result was 4-2 to Bayswater. By all accounts one of Baywaters Goals came from a contentius penalty but the rest were well earned and the result was a fair reflection. Still not bad against the top side.

In the first team match, once again against the top side, it was a different story. We scored first and early and Baywater didnt equalise until an own goal just before half time. The second half started similarly and we scored from one of the best struck free kicks you could ever see.. 2 - 1 to Villa

We had their measure until a very nasty injury to our most effective striker saw him stretchered off and this seemed to sap our energy and altered the dynamics of the team, with the result that Bayswater equalised with about 15 minutes to play.

The last 15 minute were spent in desperate defence and we managed to hold out for a very hard faught and brave draw. A sensational effort against the top side - the club can be proud of the boys effort and fight.
