Reserves Cup Round 2 - Belmont Villa Premier vs UWA Nedlands Div 2

Two on the trot!!!!

Extactic to see the boys get there second win of the season proper against a team that played well for 90 minutes and never gave up.

Congratulations to Richard for his brace while Jack and Abdi got one each.

I have to say that Abdi's goal was an absolute pearler. Nice two touch football down the wing played inside only to be played out again where Abdi curled it into the far corner. The lead up play was just as good as the finish.

I also have to acknowledge our new substitute keeper who made some excellent saves. Thanks for stepping up George and the boys thought you did a very good job too.

I was most please with the way the boys went about their jobs. They knew that UWA were not going to be an easy team to beat and the work effort and intensity from the start proved to both me and Barry that they weren't going to fall into the trap of being over confident. Which they could have been after such a good win last week.

The football played was enjoyable to watch and the pace at which it was played is comendable. Even the first team players comment on how well they play.

Once again Barry and I are extremely proud of our team (including the guys that stepped up from div 5) for their attitude and effort. And we are very happy that the team has bonded so well and will hang about and sit together and have a drink (even if it is Sunkist).

Congratulations boys see you on Tuesday as we get ready for BB United.

I was corrected on Thirsdaynight at training about the scorers against UWA. I seemed to have given Richard an extra goal. Although he did deserve a brace. Unfortunately our long serving sweeper managed to get on the score board and now he has grandeurs of being a striker.

But to be fair it was a well directed powerful header from a corner. Well done Chris Kemp.
