Round 12 - Belmont Villa Reserves vs Fremantle Croatia

I will tell you what I heard from the bulk of the players from after the game as I didn't really look at the game from a coaching perspective this week. I concentrate too much on playing to be a player coach so at leaset I know I will never go down that path without a trusted assistant.

The concensus I got from most of the boys as well as my assistant was that the first half was abismal and that the effort level left much to be desired. I saw it much the same way. To go in at the break only 2-0 down was kind of flattering and due in no part to a top shelf save from me. Proof that pigs can fly.

The second half was a much better performance with an extra effort from all the players and it showed in the football played and in the second half score line. Granted the goal was a penalty (I can tell you what it was for) but it was converted by Ash. Again I can't tell you how, but this time due to the fact I never watch our penalties.

Feel a little agreived at not getting something out of the game where maybe a point could be argued as a fair result. But that has been the story of our season.

Hopefully not the story of the rest of the season.

I must also thank the 5th division guys that have been helping out recently due to a huge number of injuries at the moment. With out them I would not be able to field a team from my normal squad of 16.

Great attitude from the lads who are stepping up and it is appreciated by all of the reserve squad.
